Every reduction figure on this page comes from an independent challenge test of the filter cartridge. Water was dosed with each contaminant well above real-world levels, then measured before and after filtration.

  • 383 contaminants tested across 13 categories — disinfection by-products, heavy metals, PFAS, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, microplastics and VOCs
  • Lead reduced 99.3%, from 152 to 1 µg/L
  • PFOA / PFOS reduced by over 99.6%
  • Fluoride reduced by over 99.5%
  • Microplastics reduced by over 99.99%
  • Chlorine and its by-products reduced by over 99.5%

These are challenge-test reductions, not a guarantee for every water supply. Ask us for the full report.

How the filter works

The cartridge combines a high-capacity activated-carbon block with ion-exchange and adsorption media. Water is held in contact with the media long enough to bind contaminants, not just strain them.

  • Activated carbon targets chlorine, disinfection by-products and the organic compounds behind bad taste and smell
  • Ion-exchange media targets dissolved metals such as lead, plus fluoride and perchlorate that pass straight through basic carbon filters
  • Adsorption layer captures PFAS, pesticide and pharmaceutical residues and microplastics

It is a gravity filter for water that is already potable. It is not a water softener and will not stop all limescale.

Specifications
  • Filtered-water capacity: 2.36 L (10 cups)
  • Upper reservoir: approx. 1.9 L
  • Dimensions: 29 × 13.3 × 27.6 cm — fits most fridge doors
  • Weight, empty: 1.27 kg
  • Body: BPA-free, BPS-free copolyester
  • Filter life: up to about 90 days / 375 L for typical use — less in very hard water
  • Fill time: a full jug takes around 30–40 minutes once the filter is primed
  • Cold or room-temperature tap water only — hot water damages the media
  • Priming tool included
What it reduces

A standard carbon jug targets taste and chlorine — as few as five contaminants. This cartridge is tested against 383, including the ones a basic filter leaves behind:

  • Heavy metals — lead, arsenic, chromium-6, copper, mercury, aluminium
  • PFAS — PFOA, PFOS, GenX and 30+ related compounds
  • Fluoride, perchlorate and nitrate
  • Disinfection by-products — HAA5, trihalomethanes
  • Pesticides & herbicides — glyphosate, atrazine, 2,4-D
  • Pharmaceuticals & hormones, BPA and phthalates
  • Microplastics

Full per-contaminant results, with before and after concentrations, are in the lab report.

Cleaning & hygiene

Before first use: prime the cartridge with the included tool to clear trapped air.

Every 1–2 weeks: take the lid and reservoir apart and hand-wash with warm soapy water or a 1:1 white-vinegar rinse. Air-dry the parts. Skip abrasive sponges.

Keep filtered water in the fridge and drink it within a couple of days. Any jug left warm and full for long periods can grow bacteria — the same as any stored water.

If you are away: dry the cartridge, refrigerate it, and re-prime before the next use.

Warranty & guarantee

60-day taste-and-fit guarantee. Use it for two months. If the water is not for you, or the jug does not fit your routine, contact us for a refund of the product price.

2-year hardware warranty against manufacturing defects in the jug, lid and seals. Filters are consumables and are not covered.

Two jobs, done in plain sight

No proprietary mystery. Tap water passes slowly through activated carbon and ion-exchange media — one handles taste and smell, the other handles dissolved metals and the contaminants basic filters miss. Here is what each part is for.

Cross-section of the filter cartridge
Taste & smellActivated carbon

A dense carbon block adsorbs chlorine, chloramine and the disinfection by-products behind that swimming-pool smell and flat, metallic taste. This is the part you notice on the first glass.

Metals & fluorideIon exchange

Ion-exchange media binds dissolved lead, copper and other metals, plus fluoride and perchlorate, and holds them in the cartridge. In the lab test, lead dropped 99.3% and fluoride by over 99.5%.

The hard partPFAS, pesticides & microplastics

A final adsorption layer captures PFAS, pesticide and pharmaceutical residues and microplastics — the emerging contaminants a single scoop of carbon does not stop. All 383 results are in the report.

Real kitchens, real routines

How it actually fits into a day.

What you'll actually notice

Better water from the first pour

Better water from the first pour

Chlorine taste and that swimming-pool smell drop away. Cold, clean-tasting water you will actually want a second glass of — straight from your own tap.

Fewer bottles to buy and carry

Fewer bottles to buy and carry

A 2.36-litre jug in the fridge replaces the packs of bottled water, the storage and the trips up the stairs. Most households make the money back within months.

Every claim tied to a lab result

Every claim tied to a lab result

383 contaminants tested, with the before-and-after concentration for each one. Lead down 99.3%, PFAS over 99.6%, microplastics over 99.99%. If it was not tested, we do not claim it.

FAQ

Got questions?
We've got answers.

Does this make my tap water safe to drink?
UK and French tap water is already treated to strict standards. This filter is for taste, smell and reducing the specific contaminants shown in our lab report — not for making unsafe water safe. Use it with water that is already potable.
What does it actually reduce?
The cartridge was independently tested against 383 contaminants: heavy metals (lead down 99.3%), PFAS (PFOA and PFOS over 99.6%), fluoride (over 99.5%), disinfection by-products, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and microplastics (over 99.99%). Every result lists the before and after concentration.
Will it stop the limescale in my kettle?
No jug is a water softener, and hard water stays hard. It reduces some scale-related substances and many customers see less build-up over time, but with very hard water you will still need to descale occasionally.
Does it strip out the healthy minerals?
The ion-exchange media mainly targets heavy metals, fluoride and perchlorate. It is not a reverse-osmosis system, so it does not fully demineralise your water — filtered water still tastes like water, not flat.
Is it certified?
It is independently tested by laboratory challenge testing, and we publish the full report. We do not hold NSF certification and we do not claim it. 'Tested to a standard' and 'certified' are not the same thing, and we would rather show you the numbers.
Does it remove PFAS?
In the challenge test, PFOA was reduced by over 99.6% and PFOS by over 99.8%, along with more than 30 other PFAS compounds. That is lab performance against dosed water; the PFAS level in your own supply varies. The per-compound results are in the report.
Will a TDS meter read zero?
Probably not, and that is fine. TDS measures all dissolved solids, including harmless minerals. A low TDS number is not a safety measurement, and this filter is not designed to chase one.
What is the jug made of?
The body is BPA-free and BPS-free copolyester. The materials in contact with your water are chosen to be food-safe.

I'm satisfied

The water has been great. When I fill the filter I can see a little water come from where it seals, which I assume is normal.

Very good filter

I have a whole-house well-water filtration system and an under-sink system, but my drinking water still showed brown stains from iron in my kettle. Since I started using this pitcher my kettle no longer shows the stains.

Best water filter

The water is clean without the smell of chlorine. I feel less tired.

J

After reading some reviews I was worried this would leave a trace taste in the filtered water. That was not the case. I could not be happier. Water tastes great and I'm already saving money on bottled water.
